So today, we celebrate the birth of Christian, one of my very best friends from high school. Christian will be getting married next year…woohoo!!! Can’t wait for her big day 🙂 Enjoy your bday Christian–we will come visit soon to celebrate!
In other news, this weekend is also the wedding weekend of one of my very best friend’s from PSU, Missy, and her groom Dan! We will all be trekking up to Newport to witness this wonderful wedding. We are all super excited. So, in honor of Missy and Dan and my promise to have some other contributors to this blog, Jaclyn has sent me over a special wedding cocktail. Jaclyn and I have been friends for what feels like forever. Jaclyn works in PR in NYC and is my go to when it comes to drinking. Haha! Jaclyn came up with this drink in Missy’s honor…
Punch, Drunk, Love
20 parts Altos Reposado
8 parts maple syrup
5 parts lime juice
5 parts grapefruit juice
A few dashes of Angostura bitters
Mix all ingredients in a large punch bowl over ice. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge.
Helpful hint: When creating a cocktail with a recipe that is in parts, think of each part as a part of the total cocktail (i.e. 1 part Altos would be 1 part of the entire drink). So when creating the recipe above, you should be using the the most tequila, followed by maple syrup then lime and grapefruit juice.
Thanks Jac!!! Happy weekend everyone!!
Thanks for reading and have a fun day 🙂
Here is my picture of the day…
The two on the left are getting hitched this weekend!!! Woohoo!! And our signature cocktail is thanks to Jaclyn (third from the right)!
