Most special gift to give a bride…

I am trying to keep with some sort of pattern to this blog with:

  • A random post or weekend recap on Monday
  • A recipe on Tuesday
  • A wedding related post on Wednesday
  • A random post on Thursday
  • Weekend plans and a drink suggestion on Friday

Hopefully this gives this blog a little more structure and that way if you only want to see recipes, check in on Tuesdays or everyday if you like reading a variety of topics.  If anyone has any suggestions for posts, please feel free to message me on Facebook or email me at hollyontheblog@gmail.com.  I have to thank Sarah DeBouter for tagging me in a post with some ideas on topics to write about.  I really loved that she suggested some ideas and I would encourage anyone that is interested in hearing my take on certain subjects–please reach out.

Anyways, being that it is Wednesday, I feel compelled to share one of the most special gifts I received while getting ready for my big day.  My sister was my Matron of Honor and she did such an amazing job always making me feel special throughout my wedding planning process.  A few of my favorite things that she did for me was my kitchen themed shower complete with chef hats that said “Bride” and “Groom” for Dan and I, my bachelorette party that she hosted at her house where she got us all sunglasses that said #BrideTribe, and of course the book she put together for me to look through as I got my hair done on my big day.  Everything she did had such a unique personal touch and was just so thoughtful.  I loved every second of being a bride thanks to her!

Today I am going to focus on the book she compiled for me to flip through as I got my hair done.  I am going to attach a photo of the book itself, but I will also describe it, so that if you have someone you love getting married, you can also do this for them!!  The book had a framed picture of Dan and I on the front and each page had clear page covers over it.  Prior to my big day, my sister had each one of my bridesmaids, my two brother-in-laws, our grandparents, and our parents write a letter to me to be delivered on my big day.  Most people gave her a sealed card which she slid into each pocket on each page. She also asked them to include pictures if they had any.

Let me tell you, this book made me laugh a lot, cry a little, and just moved me overall.  I can’t even explain how much I enjoyed reading each and every letter and flipping through the pictures that my special people included.  It was really awesome and it is something I still have, so on those days that I need a little extra love, I can flip back through it and remember the people who made my wedding day–the best day of my life!!

Here are a few photos of me flipping through the book with my amazing hair stylist, Marc from Blew hair salon (http://yourhairblew.com). Thank you to my sister for compiling this special gift and to all of my friends and family for contributing such special thoughts and memories that I will forever cherish!

Hopefully this illustrates and describes the book, but if you have any questions or want more information, please feel free to email me at: hollyontheblog@gmail.com.

Thank you for reading and have a fun day 🙂
