My mom actually clued me into this story that was on ABC World News with David Muir the other night. Knowing that I love anything dog related, she asked if I had seen this story about a little girl and her service dog. I went home and immediately looked it up. The video can be found here: http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/special-bond-young-girl-rare-genetic-disorder-service-34980708
Bella has a rare genetic disorder and is unable to walk on her own. George is a Great Dane, who is her service dog. He helps her by acting as a crutch for her as she gets around. He goes to school with her, and lays behind her desk in class. My favorite part of the video is when he goes to gym class with her.
I just love this video. It made me cry and smile. It is so amazing how a dog can bring so much joy and independence into a little girl’s life. If you would like to bring a loving dog into your life, you should stop by the PetSmart in Millburn on Saturday. I will be working the afternoon shift at the adoption event with the Home for Good Dogs Rescue, if you want to see the doggies that are up for adoption go here: http://homeforgooddogs.org/adoptable-dogs/
Thanks for reading and have a fun WEEKEND 🙂
Here are a few pictures of my dog Lexie who got me through some of the hardest days of my life. She has since passed away, but was truly my right hand lady and I miss her tons…
