In love with Hawaii

Today is Tuesday and typically I would share a recipe, but since I’m away for work/vacation, the blog is going to be a little out of sorts. This will only be for this week. I will be back on schedule next week. Here is the latest from our Hawaii trip. We are calling this our workmoon, since I am technically here for work- however it often feels like a second honeymoon ❤️

We are having the absolute best time in Hawaii. I am so grateful we were able to get out before the storm hit. We are staying at the Grand Wailea, which is just beautiful with so much to do. Yesterday, Dan and I went to the pool and had so much fun going down all the water slides. There are two bigger ones and then there’s an area that is similar to a lazy river only you swim it and go down 3-4 different mini slides that bring you to different pools. It was so much fun.

We have been enjoying exploring Maui, as well. We went and hiked the Nakalele Blowhole on Sunday which was a bit challenging. We hiked pretty far down into the rocky area and had to climb back up which was a little difficult in certain parts. It was a lot of fun though.

We have been to some great restaurants so far. Saturday night when we got here we went to the Bistro Molokini at our hotel because we were so tired from flying in. Then Sunday we went to Beach Bums Bar for lunch which was a perfect little bar to watch the patriots lose! For dinner we walked over to the Four Seasons and had dinner at Spago—so yummy. There is a great little grab and go food place called Cafe Kula where we have grabbed lunch and breakfast at that is in the Grand Wailea. Last night we went to my favorite restaurant and had my favorite meal so far, which was at Mama’s Fish house! It was so amazing and the restaurant is right on the beach which was beautiful. Mama’s was highly recommended to us and now we know why!!

I am so glad we rented a car for this trip. Last year I worked the Caribbean Derm meeting in St. Maarten and my friend Drea came with me. We experienced a good amount of the island but I always wished we would have rented a car, so it would have been easier to get around. We rented a red Jeep Wrangler. It is awesome and so much fun to drive around with the top off and all the windows down. I highly recommend renting one to explore Hawaii.

I hope everyone back home in NJ is getting back to normal life after the crazy blizzard. We are enjoying the 85 degree weather for you all.

Thanks for reading and have a fun day 🙂

Here is my picture of the day…
