Feel GOOD Friday…Work/Life Balance

So the truth is yesterday I just didn’t feel like blogging.  It was the first day since I started blogging, where I was just completely in a funk.  I guess that happens, and any good blogger pushes through, and posts, but I just decided to stay quiet for the day.

Anyways, I stole this article from one of my friends and career idols– Megan, because for some reason it resonated with me when I read it (Thanks Megan for sharing!!!!).  I currently do not have any kids, but I do have a dog named THOR.  He sometimes feels like a kid, requires attention like kids, talks (barks in my face) back like a kid, and has endless energy like a kid.  I constantly find myself trying to do everything and still be a good dog mom.  He loves to go on walks, play in the stream, and play in the snow for hours.  The one thing I love about the winter is that he will play on the deck, in the snow, for a good hour unsupervised digging and throwing the snow up in the air.  It’s not only fun to watch, it’s also a nice break.

That being said…this article highlights the juggling act that most face on a daily basis.  I like it because it makes me feel like I am not the only one that is a chicken with my head cut off at times.  Prioritizing and focusing is easy one week, and then the next I am not even sure if I have enough time to eat lunch or any meals for that matter, do my laundry, and/or catch up on emails/requests.  I always feel guilty about not going to the gym or eating healthier…but the fact is, almost everyone is in the same boat.  I often feel sorry on days when Thor doesn’t get a good walk with me and is stuck inside while I power through some of my “to do” list.  I would like to believe he doesn’t mind every once in a while though.

I think it is important to do what you need to do in life to be a happier, healthier, more fulfilled human being.  On this FEEL good FRIDAY, you must remember that you are not alone, you will get through this, and like in Finding Nemo “just keep swimming.” Also, try not to compare yourself to everyone.  Although, people may seem like they have it all together on social media—they probably also have a stack of laundry waiting to be done!!!  That is all I really have for today, but here is the article, it is short, sweet and to the point.

Thank you for reading and have a fun WEEKEND 🙂

Here is my picture of the day…

DMB

This picture is a Flashback Friday for you from 2012 when we went to see DMB.  It was such a fun night, which probably ended with Rachel and I sleeping over at Megan’s condo and waking up to watch Megan’s wedding video while laying on the couch all day and probably ordering food…
