It makes me sad to see all of the hate in the world today. Reading the news is downright depressing and something has just got to give. I have started to unfriend people on Facebook that are incredibly negative and hateful–why would I want to be flooded with their desire to find all of the awful things in life? I saw this article on my newsfeed on Facebook last night and it just made me smile: http://abcnews.go.com/US/adorable-nap-time-photo-captures-tender-moment-children/story?id=37909246
The one thing that I miss about teaching is my students’ huge hearts that were so filled with love. They would often seek out ways to share their love and always made me feel so important to them. My senior year of college I taught 4 days out of the week and attended my own classes all day on Tuesday. When I would come back on Wednesdays my whole desk was filled with letters and pictures from my students. Some of them were silly, but they all touched my heart and made my day.
I kind of feel the same way about this picture/article. It just made my day. My goal in life is to surround myself with happy, loving, positive people. I would be stupid to say that there isn’t sadness in this world, but I do have a choice of who/what I pick to surround myself with and focus on. I always try to remember to appreciate the little things and the find those who spread love in our society. I felt this article perfectly depicted the love that exists amongst friends and the security we find in having a teammate to navigate through this crazy life. I can’t wait to see my family this weekend, to celebrate Easter, and to celebrate the birth of a very special lady in my life…MY MOM! Monday will mark the first day of the last year of her 50’s…it is so hard for me to believe. It is also so hard for me to understand how she had 3 children by the age of 29…my current age. I can barely handle a dog, let alone 3 kids!! She is certainly admirable, inspiring, and one of my very best friends.
I hope you all have a LOVING Friday and a fantastic weekend!
Thanks for reading and have a fun WEEKEND 🙂
