We left Kyoto by train to head to Hiroshima. There wasn’t a direct train so we had to switch in Shin-Osaka. It was pretty easy.
We got to Hiroshima and had to take one of the street cars to our hotel. It was pretty easy and dropped us off right near our hotel. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza, which is a very nice hotel. They let us check in early without waiting or charging us a fee, some hotels have made us wait or charged us an early check in fee.
We were pretty hungry as it was lunch time as we got situated, so we decided we wanted to find a place that served okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is so delicious. It was a thin pancake on the bottom filled with sprouts, noodles, shrimp and pork and then topped with an egg. They make it on a flat top grill right in front of you, flipping it a few times, and then topping it, with green onions and a sweet sauce. It was so good, I think one of my favorite meals since we have been traveling.
We then went to the Peace Museum, which was a short walk from our hotel. It was really sad to see all the effects of the A-bomb.
Today we are a going to take the ferry to an island called Miyijima, which is supposed to be beautiful and then we will head to our last city in Japan, Osaka.
Thanks for reading and have a fun day 🙂
